The first cooking class for Kazzies and friends was held at the George Calombaris Restaurant “Hellenic Republic” in Kew. In a word the event was “fantastic” with lots of “kefi”– so say all of the ten attendees (two men including our President, and eight women), who went along to learn how to make Moussaka from head Chef Alex. Also it was excellent value for money.
Apart from the demonstration, good wine flowed freely, and appetisers of Tarama, Octopus salad and olives were served, then moussaka (previously prepared), with salad, and potatoes, then desert of Hellenic Republic’s special rice pudding and loukoumades.
Several of the attendees have already made bookings for the coming classes in the monthly series. Class size is limited to ten.
