Red Dyed Easter Eggs using commercial dye

Ingredients:

Approximately 12 to 24 eggs
Water
3/4 cup Vinegar
Red food dye or colouring*
Vegetable oil

Utensils:

A large, preferably old saucepan
Cotton Balls

Method:

Wash and dry each egg carefully.
Boil a large pot of water.
Add a red dye or food colouring and 3/4 cup of vinegar to the water.
Boil for a few minutes.
Slowly lower the eggs into the pot, and when the water comes to a boil, lower the heat to a simmer.
Simmer eggs for 15 min and remove carefully from the pot.
Before cooking more eggs, add an additional 2 tbs. vinegar to the water.
Wipe cooked/dyed eggs with an oil soaked cotton ball,
Wipe each egg again with a clean dry cloth.
